Kia Haumaru - Women's Personal Safety Education
This programme is tailored to meet the needs, strengths, and abilities of the group.
While every course is customised, it will likely include:
Hands-on learning - basic physical techniques like blocks and what to do if you are grabbed, thrown or pinned.
Building confidence and personal safety - learning body positioning, assertiveness, and effective verbal responses.
Safety strategies – developing skills to prevent and resist violence, including de-escalation and clear, effective communication.
Instructor, Brie Sergeant, is an accredited Personal Safety/ Self Defence Kaiako with NZ Kia Haumaru (Women's Self Defence Network).
