Oamaru Stone Carving
Stone carving is an ancient practice that has been used as a form of self-expression and a way to chronicle history.
During the workshop, you will learn the craft and create your own masterpiece under the expert tuition of Heather Newland. The finished product is yours to take home and keep for yourself, or gift to a loved one.
The many benefits of learning stone carving include:
Relieving stress
Improving your mental health
Meeting new people
Pursuing new career opportunities.
Now bigger and better!
This year, the stone size has doubled, giving you more freedom, more depth, and more opportunity to create something truly substantial. It’s the perfect chance for past participants to build on their skills and an exciting opportunity for absolute beginners to start with a bold, rewarding project.
